Executive Summary
The on-site training and capacity building of the R-WASH Technical Working Group stakeholders in Sudan (involved in Wad Sharife projects) on the data collection on using the remote monitoring system tools was held in UNICEF Kassala on the 19th December 2024. The training had attendance from UNICEF, UNHCR, WHH, WCS, WES, COR and Ground Water attended the meeting both physically and virtually where a link to join in was provided.
The training/capacitation workshop was jointly organized and facilitated by the UNICEF ESARO (WASH Section and R-WASH Program Management Unit) and UNICEF Sudan Country and Kassala Field Office – WASH Section. The main objectives of the training/capacitation of R-WASH stakeholders on remote data collection system workshop were:
- Training and interaction with the Remote Monitoring system ODK mobile application developed for field activity monitoring and provide feedback.
- Training and interaction with the Remote Monitoring system ODK Central web data management portal for field activity monitoring and provide feedback.
- Training and interaction with the Remote Monitoring system dashboards developed that displays various indicator information captured from the results framework, activity monitoring and provide feedback.
- Plan for field activity monitoring in Wad Shariffe
The training/capacitation sessions methodologies included presentations, group reviews and discussions, Remote Monitoring system overview, developed applications walkthrough, system access and practical activities sessions. The meeting was convened with in-person participation on the 19th December 2024, with links provided to allow for virtual participation. The completion of the training and deployment of the R-WASH Remote Monitoring System necessitated the development of guidance manuals.
